Mission

The Idaho Public Health Association provides
a forum for individuals and organizations
to work collectively to assure conditions
in which Idahoans will be healthy.

Goals

Communication: To provide a centralized communication and
coordination point for dissemination of public health information.

Education: To assure an informed public and enhance the
competency of public health.

Collaboration: To promote the development of science-based public
health policy and forge strategic partnerships for maximum
influence, efficiency and effectiveness.

Organization: To assure a sustainable IPHA infrastructure.

Accomplishments

Initiation of a campaign to support and showcase Public Health
Week activities throughout Idaho.

Organization of diverse stakeholders to advocate for the passage of
important public health policies related to air quality, seatbelt use,
child care regulations, and school nutrition and physical activity.

Sponsorship of professional development opportunities in
conjunction with the Idaho Health Care Conference and the Idaho
Environmental Health Association annual meetings.

Recognition of public health professionals through the Governor’s
Proclamation for Idaho Public Health Day.

Recipient of a three-year, $90,000.00 American Public Health
Association Affiliate Capacity Building Grant.

Established in 1952,
the Idaho Public
Health Association
(IPHA) is the oldest
non-profit organization
representing public,
private, and consumer
health interests in
Idaho. It is comprised
of four key task
groups, education,
policy,
communications and
organizational
development.
